Career or Outplacement

Coaching

Do you have discomfort about an impending job change?

I work with leaders in organisations who aren’t clear about their job options or who are struggling to get clarity on their future career.

Perhaps you have an unavoidable career change on the horizon and you don’t like it.

You’re not sure what you need to do to get over a massive hump in your career. You’re not feeling confident about the future right now.

Maybe you don’t have certainty about what you want your future career to look like.

You could be uncertain about what you want to do — as well as what you are able to do. You’re unsure about what a sensible next career step would look like. You probably haven’t really got your head around the range of possibilities that could be available.

You may not be confident you’ll succeed in getting the job you want.

You may be reacting to what’s happening to you, rather than taking charge of the situation. Perhaps you’re unsure about how you’ll go in the job search process – how to put forward a great application, what your impressive resume should look like, or how to be influential at an interview.

The leaders I work with are ready to look at their career to date and have some frank discussions about the future they want to create.

My services are not for everyone. They’re for leaders who are prepared to be candid with some of the tricky questions in order to get a real handle on a future career they’ll excel in.

You’ll thrive when working with me if you commit to working through a proven process—and you’re prepared to focus on what you need to do to define and create your ideal future career.

Typically, the people I work with are dealing with the following sorts of challenges…

Are you confronted by any of these career challenges?

You’re not satisfied with your current role or your future promotion prospects.

And you don’t know what options are available to you. You’re not sure what type of role would give you the most satisfaction. Perhaps you’re not sure how successful you’re likely to be in finding such a role.

You have limited time.

Your redundancy package or other financial resources are limited. Your search for a new position has to be effective so your standard of living does not suffer.

The stress of your current situation is impacting your relationships — particularly with those who matter most.

You want to be more confident and less reactive to the situation. You want to be able to confront difficulties skilfully and professionally. You certainly don’t want those who are close to you to suffer.

You know you need to make a change, but you don’t know how to make it happen.

This could be because you haven’t applied for a new position in some time. Whatever the reason, you’re not confident about how to construct your resume or approach prospective employers. How do you find out about those 75% of vacancies that aren’t advertised? What job finding resources are out there that you don’t know about?

You’re not good at interviews.

You may be great in the job but you don’t do yourself justice in the interview process. How do you build rapport with the interviewer/s? How do you answer those tricky questions with honesty and integrity? How long should your responses be? How can you use questions to your advantage?

What results can you expect from coaching?

Here's what you'll take away

You’ll feel supported.

You won’t feel like you’re on your own — because you won’t be. You’ll receive professional, practical, ongoing career guidance and feedback that works.

You’ll have a strong sense that you’re on track.

You’ll be aware of more career possibilities and how you could realise them. You’ll have a real hunch that what you’re doing is purposeful and effective. You won’t be wasting time doing things that have little chance of helping achieve your outcomes.

You’ll feel like you’re more in control.

You’ll have more clarity about what you want and a bigger tool kit of effective strategies and techniques to achieve your career goals. You’ll be in a much better position to take charge of your own future. You’ll be better prepared for change and more confident about embracing change.

You’ll feel a lot more confident about how effective your resume is, about how you can impress at interview

—in fact you’ll know what you need to do so you’re putting your best foot forward in all your face-to-face and written interactions of your job search process.

You’ll be easier to be with.

Let’s face it, looking for a new job can be one of the most stressful situations we ever have to deal with. Often times it’s those who are close to us who suffer as well. You can expect to have more emotional resilience and intelligence to handle any pressures and setbacks that might occur along the way.

What it’s like to work with me

I’m results-oriented.

It’s my natural style to focus on the outcomes you want. When I notice you’re doing something that isn’t supporting you to get those results, we’ll chat about it. And then you can decide, with a real consciousness around your decision, what result you want and what you’re prepared to do to get it.

I want you to create remarkable relationships with others.

I believe good relationships are critical to your success, and also to your ongoing happiness and fulfilment as a human being. We’ll work on having all your relationships be the best they can be.

I’m authentic.

I’ll be honest in our discussions. I’ll tell you the truth, as I see it from where I sit. It’s much harder for people you work with to tell you the truth, so I think this is one of the most important parts of my job. And because you know I’m ‘on your side’, I want what’s best for you, you’ll hear the truth as supportive, helpful and encouraging.

The uniqueness of my approach

I have a deep understanding of the recruitment industry and its practices from ‘both sides of the fence’.

One of my first roles in organisational development, more than 25 years ago, was in executive recruitment. I’ve also assisted Australia’s leading executive outplacement agency to refine its practices and to case manage their longest-term, most difficult-to-place clients with outstanding success. My unique and invaluable experience and knowledge is available to support you to achieve your targeted outcomes.

I have an impressive track record of results.

In more than 25 years of corporate human resource development work, leaders looking for more certainty about their future careers have been thrilled with the outcomes we’ve created.

You can be confident your program will support you to reach your targeted outcomes. You can be assured of complete confidentiality. And we’ll work in a time efficient way that takes care of your particular logistical requirements.

We’ll meet face-to-face for one hour, twice a month, for your regular coaching sessions.

We’ll start with a discussion about your needs from your coaching program.

And we’ll determine exactly what results would make you exceedingly pleased you made the decision to be coached.

Your customised program will be comprised of many, if not all, of the following components:

It’s the norm for organisational sponsorship to support

…a one-off fee (to cover time and costs involved in the initial diagnosis) and a monthly retainer.

Now that you know more about what my Career or Outplacement Coaching Program will do for you and the logistics of being coached, contact me so we can talk about your needs and how we can make sure they’re met.
