- Some were irritated because they weren’t climbing the ladder like they wanted to.
- Others needed to figure out how to deal with difficult situations and tricky people at work — and sleep better as a result.
I’ve been working with leaders for more than 25-years—hundreds of them…
Although we created unusually good results in our group work, I recognised that leaders had:
That’s when I began working with leaders one-on-one. And that’s when really sizeable and lasting shifts began.
Typically, a leader turns-up to their coaching sessions wanting to come to grips with things like:
For example, a senior leader I coached was cautious about contradicting her boss (perhaps understandably, given her boss’ typical emotional reactions). As a result, her boss and peers saw her as scared of confrontation. She knew this, but didn’t know what to do about it—until I showed up.
These days she’s courageous about putting the truth on the table with her boss. Her boss now sees her as his 2IC—and respects her direct communication, and her, enormously.
For eleven years I was with a well-known consulting house, the last six as a partner. Since 1989 I’ve run my own boutique human resource development company.
My experience is with leaders in the finance, manufacturing, marketing, IT and services industries, as well as in government. My clients are both big-name and smaller organisations—such as:
AMP, Amgen, Autodesk, Avaya, BHP, BlueScope, Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College, Brightpoint, Caltex, CSIRO, Defence Department, Energetics, Expedia, Fresenius Medical Care, Frontline Management Institute, Gold Coast University Hospital, Harper Collins, Hilti, James Hardie, Justice Health, Konica Minolta, Lucent Technologies, MasterCard, Memjet, National Prescribing Service, NSW Institute of Psychiatry, NSW Ministry of Health, Novartis, Oki, Pandora, Pentair, ResMed, Rheem, Rothschild, SAI Global, Seafolly, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Tolmar Australia, Toshiba and UXC Connect.
I’ve completed studies at undergraduate and post-graduate levels in psychology and allied disciplines at Macquarie University and University of Technology.
I’m a Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Master Practitioner, and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Step II, BarOn EQ-i and LSI certified.
I was awarded the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential by the International Coach Federation (ICF) in 2001 in recognition of my training, applied skills and experience. I’ve held roles on ICF’s international Ethics Review Board, International Credentialing Committee and Australia & New Zealand Board.
