"The builder of our house has told me that he loves to drive by our house, sometimes to show potential customers and sometimes just to make himself feel good—because he’s very pleased with what he has done and very proud of himself for his work.

I think in many respects you should feel the same about (our leadership team). We have a whole new way of communicating and I think of thinking and behaving, and probably a whole new belief and value system in place.

And behind all of the change I could see you."

"My coaching program enabled me to identify the key attributes of a leader and identify areas for my further development. Because I received guidance with previously difficult real-life issues, it also enabled me to manage difficult situations elegantly.

Things progress more easily now that I’ve discovered how to be more influential with others. I became better at listening and responding to feedback, more open and trusting of my team, and more honest and open when stating my expectations of my team."

How I Work With The Teams I Coach

What results can you expect?

  • You’ll quickly notice that the team becomes a lot more focused on how it needs to perform to operate effectively in the competitive environment it’s in. If it was already doing OK, it’ll be doing even better. And if it needed to make quite big shifts in it’s approaches, it’ll be making them.

  • Having determined exactly which of its practices and behaviours are aligned with high performance teamwork, and which of its practices and behaviours have been inhibiting high performance teamwork, the team will be producing results that you would expect a higher performing team to produce.

  • The team will operate like a cohesive team, focused on achieving its agreed outcomes. The leverage it creates through collaboration will have many positive impacts—with efficiencies, on relationships, and on its results.

  • Things will run a lot more smoothly. The team’s meetings will be more productive. Team members will honour the promises they make to do things. Trust and respect will be more evident.

  • Team members’ emotional intelligence will rapidly grow. Each individual will have many useful tools in their tool kit to manage difficult situations. Reactions will be mature; conversations will be constructive; difficult issues, including conflict, will be confronted skilfully and professionally.

  • The team will develop a reputation for being very capable and results driven. The fine-tuning will be noticed. Others’ respect for the team’s professionalism will be high. Also, it’ll know where its performance could be polished even more, and it’ll actively keep polishing, thereby continuing to produce better results as the months go by.

The uniqueness of my approach

  • I have a deep understanding of the world of leaders and teams. For more than 25 years I’ve been observing and learning about how people and teams in organisations think, feel and behave—and have a very real sense of what they need to do differently to achieve their targeted outcomes.

  • I have an impressive track record of results. In more than two decades of corporate human resource development work, leaders and team’s I’ve worked with have made shifts that they’ve been thrilled with; shifts that have had their organisations coming back for more.

What Is It Like To Work With Me?

  • I’m results-oriented. It’s my natural style to focus on results—that is the desired results of the person or team I’m working with. When I notice that they’re doing something that isn’t supporting them in getting those results, we talk about it. And then they decide, with a real consciousness around their decision, what result they want and what they’re prepared to do to get it.

  • I’m authentic. I’ll be honest in our discussions. I’ll tell the truth, as I see it from where I sit. I think that it’s one of the most important parts of my job. And because the person I’m working with knows that I’m “on their side”, I want what’s best for them, they’ll hear the truth as supportive, helpful and encouraging.

Now that you have a better idea about the results you can expect by working with me, and more about my approach, next go to the Team Coaching Described page to learn about the specific service I offer.
